Lifeline provides a link to many types of emergency help,
including ambulance, police, and fire. This personal emergency response system
provides 24-hour assistance for people of all ages and abilities.
With just the push of a button, worn either around the neck
or on the wrist, a phone call is placed into the emergency response center at
the hospital.
Trained hospital staff call to ask what type of help is
needed. If the person is not able to answer the phone, responders, who may be
family members or neighbors, are contacted and asked to check on the person.
After a responder arrives, hospital staff call the person's
home to learn if additional help is needed.
The rental fee for Lifeline ranges from $20 to $25 a month.
Volunteers install the Lifeline unit in your home. If you have a financial
need, we may be able to assist you with the monthly charge.
The Lifeline system requires that you have a private
(one-party) line. Also, if there is more than one telephone in your home, we
ask you to sign a waiver that releases Lifeline from responsibility in case one
phone is off the hook.
