Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT)
Positron Emission Tomography is commonly used in combination with CT scanning and referred to as PET/CT. This procedure provides another layer of information to your medical provider – this time about the body’s chemistry and cell function.
This promising technology is particularly useful in pinpointing the exact location of cancer cells in the body. It is also used to see how much heart muscle survived a heart attack, and to help diagnose Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
