MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician in our Lab department.  This is a full time, benefited position, working 80 hours per pay period 11:00am-7:30pm.  The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for the collection and processing of specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and accurate and timely reporting of test results.

Essential Duties:

  • Reads, analyzes and interprets common scientific and technical journals, manuals and procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely specimen procurement and handling.
  • Provides quality service for all aspects of the pre-analytic phase of test performance (reagent, specimen, quality control materials, products and supply preparation, understanding procedures).
  • Provides quality service for all aspects of the post-analytic phase of test performance (remedial and corrective action, documentation).

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in medical technology or clinical laboratory science or Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology or qualified or could have qualified as a Technologist under laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR  9538)
  • Must meet the CLIA 88 Testing Personnel qualification requirements for a Moderate and High Complexity Testing Laboratory.
  • One year training/experience in high complexity testing; or equivalent combination or education and experience or qualified as a technologist under laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR  9538).

QUALITY ASSISTANT

Consider joining the Black River Memorial Hospital team in our Quality department.  We have an immediate opening for a Quality Assistant.  This is a full time, benefited position working 80 hours per pay period.  The Quality Assistant will be assisting the Quality Director with a variety of clerical, logistical and reporting duties related to the department.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains an accurate, complete, and confidential quality files that would include scanning, indexing and archiving records.
  • Assists with compliance of accrediting and regulatory agencies including but not limited to coordination, logistics, documentation and requirements.
  • Completes data entry, routine reporting and clerical assistance and support for the Quality Director. 

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 1-3 years data or clerical experience. 
  • Minimum of an associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school required.
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite.

REGISTERED NURSE- Med/Surge Department

Both open positions are night shift working either part time or full time, 56 and 72 hours per period respectively.  Both positions are benefited.

Essential Duties:

  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and takes appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Accurately and effectively utilizes the patient acuity system to anticipate changes in patient care needs.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Are you a Nurse Practitioner that is looking for a position that offers a great work-life balance or the opportunity to be home 20 days out of the month?  Black River Memorial Hospital is looking for two Nurse Practitioners to join our Hospitalist team in our Medical/Surgical department. 

Our open part time position is 25 hours a week, Monday-Friday 9am-2pm and benefits eligible and our full time position works 7pm-9am for the first through the tenth day of every month and benefit eligible.  

Essential Duties:

  • Provides appropriate medical services to all patients who are assigned
  • Assists hospital with the appropriate medical assessment, treatment and timely discharge of patients admitted to hospital for observation.
  • Works diligently with primary care physician/provider for a seamless transition from outpatient to hospital care with an accurate and timely discharge summary. 
  • Complies with the requirements and standards of Medical, The Joint Commission and any other accrediting agencies designated as well as all applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Education Requirements:

  • Current Wisconsin license as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Current DEA number and/or Nurse Practitioner Prescribing License
  • Advanced Cartiac Life Support (ACLS) certified

RESOURCE NURSE-MED/SURG UNIT

Med Surg Department

Consider joining our compassionate care team at Black River Memorial Hospital where we have immediate opening for a part-time Resource Nurse in our Medical Surgical Department.  Hours of work are pm and night shifts, every third weekend, 56 hours per pay period, benefited.

The Resource Nurse provides oversight and leadership among the ER, Med/Surg and OB departments.  The Resource Nurse manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost effective patient care.

Qualifications:

  •   Bachelor of Science, Associates degree in Nursing or Diploma RN.  BSN preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS required. PALS and NRP strongly preferred or must be completed within the first three months of hire/transfer.  ATCN and ALSO within the first year.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of patient care experience.
  • Current licensed Wisconsin RN.

Homecare/Hospice Department

A Clinical Social Worker, LCSW position is now available at Black River Memorial Hospital. This position is 8 hours per pay period, day shift hours.

Duties include helping to meet the social, economic and emotional needs of patients and their families.  A member of the Palliative Care Team, which includes making home visits.  

 Qualifications include:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work with LCSW or working toward their LCSW
  • 2-3 years related experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Current social work licensure from the State of Wisconsin
