RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER

Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team and travel with us on our journey to "Excellence Always".  The position is part-time, 48-60 hours per pay period, afternoon and night shifts including weekend and holiday rotation.  Position includes the Hospital's generous benefit package.

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING CLERK

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Diagnostic Imaging Clerk.  This is a full-time, 80 hours per pay period position that is benefited.  The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk performs receptionist and clerical functions in the diagnostic department.

Essential Duties:

  • Greets, assists and directs all people on arrival to the department.
  • Performs and coordinates clerical activities in the diagnostic imaging department to promote patient focused care.
  • Schedules patients for designated imaging procedures based on information from providers' request as directed by the radiologist and technologist or department director.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent.
  • Prior experience as secretary or receptionist is preferred.
  • Medical terminology, typing and computer skills necessary.
  • Positive service-oriented, interpersonal and communication skills required.

NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT

Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services Assistant to join our team. The position is benefited working 64 hours per pay period. This position is a combination of day and pm shift with rotating weekend and holidays. 

The Nutrition Services Assistant assists in preparation, cooking and serving of food by performing the following duties.  Educational qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or a general education degree and basic reading and comprehension skills.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in preparing and portioning food for patients using room service or scheduled meals, contracted food services, employees and hospital special functions following established policies and procedures.
  • Accurately and appropriately transports scheduled patient meal cart to patient floor and delivers patient's room service trays or late trays directly to the patient's room.  Collects soiled trays from patient rooms and document amount of food consumed by patient.
  • Performs various cleaning duties per department protocol.  Keeps work area clean and in sanitary condition at all times.
  • Follows safe food handling practices.

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN

REGISTERED NURSE-Homecare/Hospice Department

A Registered Nurse position is now available at Black River Memorial Hospital in our Homecare/Hospice department.  This is a full time, benefited position working 72 hours a pay period on the day shift. 

The Registered Nurse plans and provides comprehensive patient care.  Manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality cost effective patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conducts the initial assessment and knowledge of eligibility requirements for admission to the Hospice/Homecare program.
  • Obtains appropriate medical orders in accordance with the Hospice/Homecare plan of care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, expertise and skills to competently provide Case Manager Services.
  • Communicates regularly with physician and team members providing information and documentation regarding the physical, psychosocial and spiritual status of the patient and family. Coaches and/or mentors others in how to communicate clearly and concisely; always communicates changes in patient status utilizing the SBAR format.

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Associates degree in Nursing. 
  • Minimum of 1-year nursing experience. 
  • Experience with Hospice and/or Homecare preferred. 
  • Current Wisconsin RN License.

NURSE INTERN

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician in our Lab department. This is a full time, benefited position, working 80 hours per pay period 11:00am-7:30pm. The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for the collection and processing of specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and accurate and timely reporting of test results.

Essential Duties:

  • Reads, analyzes and interprets common scientific and technical journals, manuals and procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely specimen procurement and handling.
  • Provides quality service for all aspects of the pre-analytic phase of test performance (reagent, specimen, quality control materials, products and supply preparation, understanding procedures).
  • Provides quality service for all aspects of the post-analytic phase of test performance (remedial and corrective action, documentation).

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in medical technology or clinical laboratory science or Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology or qualified or could have qualified as a Technologist under laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR 9538)
  • Must meet the CLIA 88 Testing Personnel qualification requirements for a Moderate and High Complexity Testing Laboratory.
  • One year training/experience in high complexity testing; or equivalent combination or education and experience or qualified as a technologist under laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR 9538).

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Our open part time position is 25 hours a week, Monday-Friday 9am-2pm and benefits eligible and our full time position works 7pm-9am for the first through the tenth day of every month and benefit eligible.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides appropriate medical services to all patients who are assigned
  • Assists hospital with the appropriate medical assessment, treatment and timely discharge of patients admitted to hospital for observation.
  • Works diligently with primary care physician/provider for a seamless transition from outpatient to hospital care with an accurate and timely discharge summary.
  • Complies with the requirements and standards of Medical, The Joint Commission and any other accrediting agencies designated as well as all applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Education Requirements:

  • Current Wisconsin license as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Current DEA number and/or Nurse Practitioner Prescribing License
  • Advanced Cartiac Life Support (ACLS) certified
