For those little emergencies in life…

Black River Memorial Hospital offers Urgent Care Service in the hospital’s Emergency Department. Urgent Care is designed for people who have urgent medical needs that are not life-threatening. The service is offered during specific times when other clinics are closed. Both the Emergency Department and Urgent Care are staffed by emergency physicians and other providers.

Come to Urgent Care for treatment of:

  1. Sore Throats
  2. Sinus Infections
  3. Flu Symptoms
  4. Sprains/Strains
  5. Minor Burns
  6. Urinary Tract Infections
  7. Coughs
  8. Skin Rashes
  9. Ear Infections
  10. Minor Cuts, Scrapes, and Bruises

Here’s how Urgent Care works:

  1. Urgent Care is a no-appointment, walk-in service.
  2. Patients check in at the Emergency Department Nurses' Station.
  3. A Registered Nurse will perform triage to determine the level of care, urgent or emergency, based on the patient's illness or injury and the medical attention that is needed during the stay.
  4. If a patient's condition changes and requires a higher level of care, they may be upgraded to an emergency patient.
  5. The emergency physician or nurse practitioner or physician assistant in consultation with the physician will provide treatment for Urgent Care patients, but Emergency Care patients will take priority.

Hours:
Monday through Friday:  5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Location, Parking, and Patient Entrance:
Urgent Care is located within the Emergency Department. Parking for Urgent Care patients is in the West Parking Lot and patients should enter through the Emergency Department entrance.
