CLINIC DIRECTOR

New opening, new opportunity!  Come join Black River Memorial Hospital’s exciting growth adventure as the Clinic Director.  This benefited position is full-time, exempt, 80 hours per pay period.  The primary responsibilities are to assist physicians, advanced practice providers, clinic support staff and patient access staff with daily coordination of patient care that facilitates fulfillment of Black River Memorial Hospital’s Mission. It is the responsibility of this position to foster and nurture a patient centric and customer (internal and external) focused environment where staff understands that patients come first. 

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) required. Field of Study: Health Administration, health-related field or business related field desired.
  • Master's Degree Preferred. Field of Study: Health Administration, health-related field or business related field desired.
  • 5-years of healthcare director experience required. Clinic management experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops department goals in conjunction with establishing/implementing/ developing/revising processes policies and procedures for department operations in alignment with the hospital’s strategic goals. Provides leadership, vision, development and implementation of short and long term planning for the organization.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates financial practices and goals according to established standards. Plans, researches and requests purchases for department capital and operational equipment and supplies. 
  • Ensures department and employees are in compliance with all regulatory accreditation and licensing agencies by preparing and maintaining pertinent records, reports, statistics, contracts, files and other documents for the department.
  • Investigates and takes appropriate timely action(s) to resolve customer concerns, complaints, and problems. Uses the customer service recovery process.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT PARAMEDIC

Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) has an immediate opening in our Emergency Department for an experienced Critical Care Paramedic.  This benefited position is part-time, 48 hours per pay period, work 12 hours/on-call for 12 hours, two days per week. 

As a paramedic at BRMH, you will provide paramedic-level emergency medical care for patients of all ages.  This position functions according to Wisconsin Paramedic Curriculum and functions under the direction of the emergency department nurse or provider.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains up to date knowledge and cares for patients in accordance with department policies, procedures, protocols and scope of practice/job description.
  • Performs various medical procedures under the direction of the Emergency Department nurse or provider.
  • Recognizes serious signs and symptoms and promptly reports the patient’s condition to the emergency department nurse or provider.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES SUMMER HELP

Black River Memorial Hospital has a temporary summer position available in our Environmental Services Department assisting our Groundskeeper/Maintenance Assistant.  The position will run approximately June to September.  Hours of work are day shift, 80 hours per pay period, non-benefited.

Duties include performing all phases of grounds keeping tasks to keep properties in neat and presentable condition, minor maintenance and repairs of building and small equipment.

Qualified candidates must be 18 years of age and capable of performing a variety of duties including weeding, cutting, trimming and painting.  EOE

HOMECARE/HOSPICE NURSE PRACTITIONER

Black River Memorial Hospital has a part-time opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in our Homecare/Hospice Department.  This benefited position is 40 hours per pay period, day shift, fluctuating between Monday through Friday based on census and NP’s preference.   

This position evaluates and treats patients of all ages with severe chronic disease and/or end of life prognosis. In addition, this role completes patient assessments, orders and interprets diagnostic tests and completes or prescribes treatments under the supervising Hospice/Palliative Care Physician.

Essential Duties:

  • Assesses patients of all ages presenting for health care and obtains a personal medical history, appropriate physical examination and completes documentation of same using the hospital’s clinical charting system. Documents or dictates articulate and concise patient care information for the physician and medical record.
  • Performs orders and interprets diagnostic test and patient data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Instructs and counsels patients and families related to physical/mental health, self-care, medication use and management of symptoms.
  • Works collaboratively with the Homecare/Hospice and Palliative Care Director and other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the teams. Ensures the care provided to patients meets agency and regulatory standards, quality patient care, and effective and efficient resources utilization.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license from the State of Wisconsin; current board certification or current board certification from ANCC, ANA, or AANP for NP must be achieved within 18 months of hire; and current unrestricted DEA.
  • BLS required
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience required.  Chronic Disease Management, Palliative Care, and/or Hospice experience preferred.
  • Achieves palliative care board certification within five years of employment as Palliative Nurse Practitioner or the applicant must be functioning as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with hospice and palliative advanced nursing practice experience of 500 hours in the most recent 12 months or 1000 in the most recent 24 months.

HOME-BASED SERVICES/FISCAL SERVICES COORDINATOR

Black River Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a Home-Based Services/Fiscal Services Coordinator in our Homecare/Hospice Department (B-Home Service and Supply Department).  This benefited position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 80 hours per pay period.  The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of billing experience with an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred and knowledge of Home Medical Equipment and Home Based Services (Homecare/Hospice). This position provides administrative support and services in the B-Home Services & Supplies Department and is responsible for processing patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops, revises, reviews and updates written policies and procedure for the Home Based Services function.
  • Assists in the development of reports, data, statistics, files and other documents as required/requested.
  • Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Home Based Services function in the B-Home Services & Supplies Department as requested by the director.
  • Accurately prepares insurance claims according to established standard. Verifies patient information with insurance carriers.
  • Remains current with regulatory changes regarding claims processing.

NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT

The Nutrition Services Assistant assists in the preparation, cooking and serving of food.  This position requires a high school diploma or a general education degree and basic reading and comprehension skills.   This is a part-time position working 64 hours per pay period which includes a scheduled every other weekend and holiday shift.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in preparing and portioning food for patients using room service or scheduled meals, contracted food services, employees and hospital special functions following established policies and procedures.
  • Accurately and appropriately transports scheduled patient meal cart to the patient floor and delivers patient’s room service trays or late trays directly to the patient’s room.  Collects soiled trays from patient rooms and document the amount of food consumed by the patient.
  • Performs various cleaning duties per department protocol.  Keeps work area clean and in a sanitary condition at all times.
  • Follows safe food handling practices.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist in our Rehabilitation Department.  This benefited position will work Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 6-8 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per pay period.   This position plans, evaluates, directs and administers occupational therapy treatment for patients within the scope of their licensure.  The position offers the ability to work with diverse populations including hand injuries, pediatric populations, and employer-based community programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Conducts occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Interprets findings of evaluations.
  • Develops prognosis and plan of care.
  • Documents according to accepted standards.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Valid Wisconsin Drivers’ License and proof of insurability required.
