Black River Memorial Hospital and Krohn Clinic Announce Unification to Form Black River Health
**Black River Falls, WI** – In an exciting step forward for local healthcare, Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) and Krohn Clinic are joining to create Black River Health, effective December 30, 2024. This partnership marks a key milestone in both organization’s ongoing commitment to delivering excellent, accessible healthcare to Jackson County and surrounding communities.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Black River Health,” said Carl Selvick, President and CEO, BRMH. “This partnership unites the strengths of both organizations, driven by a shared vision of delivering sustainable, high-quality care close to home. It is a bold move to meet the evolving health needs of our community.”
The decision to combine comes in response to growing health challenges with Jackson County faring worse than the average county in Wisconsin for health outcomes. BRMH and Krohn Clinic are committed to addressing these issues by ensuring that healthcare remains local, high-quality, and comprehensive.
“The future of healthcare in Jackson County is promising,” said Dr. Michelle Clark-Forsting, President and Administrator, Krohn Clinic. “Both BRMH and Krohn Clinic are strong on their own, but together we can do even more to improve the health of our community.”
Black River Health will focus on the health and well-being of its community. Patients can expect an even better standard of care. With this partnership, Black River Health will seek to attract new providers, offer more specialties, and improve more lives each year.
A key focus of the partnership is maintaining the independence of each organization while working as a unified entity. Black River Health leadership will be shared between Dr. Clark-Forsting, who will become the Chief Physician Executive, and Mr. Selvick, who will serve as Chief Executive Officer. Local decision-making will remain at the forefront, ensuring that community needs will guide Black River Health services.
This collaboration is built on a foundation of decades-long partnership, dating back to 1963 when Krohn Clinic donated the hospital. BRMH, now, runs as a private non-profit, 501(c)(3). While both organizations have been independent for decades, they have shared a common mission of improving healthcare and promoting wellness throughout Jackson County.
With our community at the heart of every decision, Black River Health is dedicated to building a future where excellent healthcare is always close to home--- Healthier as 1.
