PSYCHIATRIST

Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) has an opening for a Psychiatrist for our new Clinic opening July 2020.  This benefited position is Monday through Friday, day shift.  This position provides direct psychiatric patient care and consultation to the collaborative care team through direct patient care and regular consultations.  The psychiatrist treats patients directly, advises the prescribing medical provider on appropriate medications and other treatment strategies, also providing the care team with educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains standards of excellence in accordance with standards set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, National Association of Social Work, the Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, and the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Provide regularly scheduled psychiatric patient care. Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with behavioral health disorders.
  • Receives consults from multidisciplinary team based on new patient assessment, patients who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan, physicians orders, and multidisciplinary huddles.
  • Assesses and makes clinical evaluations of a patient’s behavioral health and diagnose illness. Incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to include the patient, clinic staff, and patient’s family/significant others to develop and implement a plan to meet the patient’s needs. Participates in multidisciplinary planning meetings and care conferences.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Doctorate’s Degree.
  • Must be licensed to practice psychiatry in the state of Wisconsin and maintain good standing on the Black River Memorial Hospital medical staff.
  • American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Board Certification.
  • Completion of a psychiatry residency program; Prefer experience with primary care psychiatry.
  • Must maintain current BLS certification.

Don’t miss this opportunity to join our Respiratory Department.  Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Respiratory Care Therapist.  This is a day shift, part-time position working 56 hours per pay period.  The Respiratory Therapist plans and provides comprehensive patient care as well as manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.  

Essential Duties Include:

  • Provides patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and takes appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Participates inpatient and family education as evidenced by teaching documentation on appropriate forms.
  • Initiates effective discharge and referral plans on admission utilizing appropriate hospital and community resources.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge with required competencies, including, but not limited to ventilators, BiPap/CPAP, and other respiratory modalities.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory
  • RRT, or CRT with experience.
  • BLS upon hire, ACLS within 1- year, PALS within 1-year and NRP certification within 3 months.

NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT

Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Nutrition Services Assistant. This position is benefited, working 72 hours per pay period in the afternoon.  The Nutrition Services Assistant assists in the preparation, cooking and serving of food.  A  High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred and basic reading and comprehension skills.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in preparing and portioning food for patients using room service or scheduled meals, contracted food services, employees and hospital special functions following established policies and procedures.
  • Accurately and appropriately transports scheduled patient meal carts to the patient floor and delivers patient’s room service trays or late trays directly to the patient’s room.  Collects soiled trays from patient rooms and document the amount of food consumed by the patient.
  • Performs various cleaning duties per department protocol.  Keeps work area clean and in a sanitary condition at all times.
  • Follows safe food handling practices.

Black River Memorial Hospital is currently accepting applications for a full-time opening in our busy Lab Department at our Critical Access Hospital.   The benefited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) opening is as follows:

  • 80 hours per pay period, afternoon shift, working Monday through Friday and on a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.  

The MT/MLT collects and processes specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and accurate and timely reporting of test results.  In addition, it oversees a variety of technical activities and individual section responsibilities to ensure efficient operation of the department.  The idea candidate for this position will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent technical and customer service skills and be team-oriented.

FACILITIES DIRECTOR

Black River Memorial Hospital is looking for a Facilities Director to lead a team of maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff at multiple sites to achieve excellence as we serve our patients, community, and staff.    This position is an exempt full-time day shift, working Monday through Friday.  The Facility Services Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and directing the activities of maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry.  The Director oversees the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and construction/renovation activities.  Develops and implements programs, in accordance with TJC, State of Wisconsin, Federal and Local codes to maintain optimum facility environmental conditions and equipment operation in a safe and serviceable condition.  Services as the Safety and Security Officer, Environment of Care Committee and other various subcommittees. 

Essential Duties:

  • Develops department goals in conjunction with establishing/implementing/ developing/revising processes policies and procedures for department operations in alignment with the hospital’s strategic goals. Provides leadership, vision, development and implementation of short and long term planning for the organization.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates financial practices and goals according to established standards. Plans, researches and requests purchases for department capital and operational equipment and supplies.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Healthcare facilities experience preferred.  Experience should include HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, institutional plant operations and maintenance (building and utility systems maintenance) and associated recordkeeping and regulations.
  • Experience managing multiple departments.
  • Professional certifications preferred (e.g. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), International Facility Management Association's Certified Facility Manager credential, Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP)).
  • Strong background in the field of code compliance with the ability to access, interpret, and implement standards, codes and regulations (i.e. TJC, State and Federal)
  • Previous experience managing commercial building projects and contractors and the ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Communicate effectively with others.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices and equipment.

  • Documents social work interventions consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Prepares, maintains and keeps current departmental records, reports, statistics, memos and other documents as required.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Social Work License preferred or have a Social Work training certificate and complete all the requirements to obtain a Social Work license within 6 months of hire.
  • 1-2 years related experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Current social work certification from the State of Wisconsin.

Black River Memorial Hospital is looking for a temporary phlebotomist to work part-time in our hospital.  This position is up to 39 hours per pay period on the afternoon shift. A phlebotomist works under the supervision of a laboratory director and a laboratory medical technologist or technician and performs laboratory specimen collection consistent with the laboratory policies and maintains assigned areas in sanitary conditions.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs capillary and venous punctures to obtain satisfactory specimens for assay or transport evidenced by assignment.
  • Uses prescribed sterile techniques as set forth by policy and procedure manuals.
  • Performs satisfactory collection of specimens, to include obtaining proper documentation at the time of the blood draw.
  • Serves with a positive customer service attitude and maintain compliance with documentation requirements.

Educational Qualifications:

  • RRT credential.

  • BLS required ACLS and PALS within 1-year and NRP within 6 months required.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of insurability.
