Black River Memorial Hospital is searching for a motivated Accounting Clerk that is detailed oriented with exceptional communication skills.  This full-time day shift position is 80 hours per pay period, Monday through Friday and comes with a great benefits package.  The Account Clerk is responsible for the payment process, providing appropriate general ledger allocations, and ensuring only authorized payments are made.  The Accounting Clerk will also reconcile, post, and balance accounts, ledgers, and payments.  To be a successful Accounting Clerk, you will be trustworthy, efficient and organized.

Essential Duties:

  • Compiles and sorts documents such as invoices, checks and general ledger reports. Creates vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports etc. in a timely manner.
  • Corrects and posts payable batches, prepares special checks as needed, and completes invoicing for sales.
  • Provides detail expense reports to interested parties, documents and corrects incorrect general ledger distributions.
  • Prepares and maintains pertinent records, reports, statistics, files and other documents as needed or requested.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in accounting or finance required with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Proficiently operates all types of communication/office equipment

ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER

Black River Memorial Hospital is recruiting for a Family Medicine Advanced Practice Provider for our new clinic, opening July 2020.  This exempt, full-time position is benefited and day shift.  Black River Healthcare Clinic will provide a holistic approach by integrating behavioral health with primary care.

Essential Duties:

Provide direct patient care within the scope of primary care medicine in an outpatient setting to all patients who seek care in the Black River Healthcare Clinic.

  • Perform duties of a primary care provider in an outpatient medical clinic- examines, diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical conditions.

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Black River Memorial Hospital is currently recruiting for a Certified Medical Assistant for our Primary Care Clinic that is opening July 2020.  This benefited, full-time position is 80 hours a pay period, Monday through Friday and a rotating schedule on Saturdays.  The Certified Medical Assistant will assist with various patient duties including; assessing patient needs, answering questions, providing patient care; taking vitals and histories, giving injections, assisting with phone triage under the direct supervision of a provider, assisting with procedures, administering medications, patient education, scheduling patient appointments, and other duties as assigned.     

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains standards of excellence in accordance with standards set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, and the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Performs various functions in the Clinic, including screening telephone calls related to patient care and evaluates according to the protocols set forth by the provider. Discusses with the provider when indicated.
  • Utilizes on-line scheduling system to schedule patients for follow-up appointments in the Clinic. Makes necessary contacts to schedule patients for follow-up tests, procedures, or appointments in other departments and/or other health care facilities. Schedules tests/procedures with appropriate departments and hospital admissions. Prepares and orders diagnostic tests including x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests according to provider orders and informs patient with instructions and follow-up.

Education Qualifications:

  • One to two years’ experience in a clinic setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or able to complete within three months of hire.
  • Certification through AAMA, CCMA, AMT (registered), ARMA, or NCMA is required within three months of hire.
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures, equipment, and computer systems preferred.

CLINICAL DIETITIAN

Black River Memorial Hospital has a great opportunity for a Clinical Dietitian to work flexible hours in an awarding-winning hospital; including a beautiful, newly remodeled Nutrition Services Department.  This non-benefited part-time position is 24 hours per pay period on day shift.  The ideal candidate will have experience in diabetes education and nutrition education.  This position provides medical nutrition therapy to patients as part of the multidisciplinary team in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. 

Essential Duties:

  • Completes inpatient assessments to identify patient’s nutritional needs and documents patient’s care plan in the electronic medical record. 
  • Attends daily patient multidisciplinary care huddles and identifies patient’s nutritional status.  Addresses issues by facilitating and/or initiating nutritional interventions to the multidisciplinary care team (physician, nursing, nutrition services, pharmacy, therapy and family/caregiver).
  • Responds to all nutrition consult requests from medical staff and provides patient/family with appropriate diet education or informative materials in accordance with request.

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from accredited college/university in Dietetics/Food and Nutrition.
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. 
  • Membership in Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent professional organization.
  • Minimum one year experience in clinical dietetics.
  • Maintains current Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics registration credential.

CLINIC MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Black River Memorial Hospital is excited to announce an opportunity to join the Black River Memorial Hospital Primary Care and Behavioral Health Clinic team as the Clinic Medical Director.  This position is full-time, exempt, 80 hours per pay period with a generous benefits package. 

The Clinic Medical Director provides oversight and direction of the daily operations of the Black River Memorial Hospital Primary Care and Behavioral Health Clinic. In addition, it works directly with the Clinic Director to ensure the effective management of clinic processes and ancillary staff.  It directly supervises the Clinic Providers to assure safe and best practice operation of the care delivery processes and assist in identifying opportunities for enhanced efficiencies in the delivery of care, productivity, performance improvement and standardization of process.  It also works as a patient care provider evaluating and treating patients.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide appropriate medical services (assess, treat, admit, transfer or discharge) to all patients who seek care in the Black River Memorial Hospital Primary Care and Behavioral Health Clinic. Perform the duties of a primary care physician in an outpatient medical clinic.

  • Investigate and take appropriate timely action(s) to resolve customer concerns, complaints, and problems. Utilize the established customer service recovery process.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for providers. Completes self, peer, and staff annual performance appraisals.  Follows hospital Standards of Conduct and holds staff accountable for meeting the Standards of Conduct.

Education Qualifications:

  • Doctorate Required, Field of Study: Family Medicine
  • Master's Degree in Public Health or Medical/Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a medical practice or complex physician organization is required, 5 years is preferred. Leadership experience should include direct management of providers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Medical License in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, effectively communicates with diverse groups, promote shared accountability, and facilitate change with a clear focus on results.

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING RAD TECH

Black River Memorial Hospital has an opening for a Diagnostic Imaging CT/Radiologic Technologist.  This is a part-time position working 64 hours per pay period which includes every 3rd weekend and some holidays.  This position is benefited.  The Diagnostic Imaging Radiologic Technologist performs radiology examinations following hospital and radiology standards when ordered by a physician or other allied health practitioners for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologist. 

Essential Duties:

  • Performs radiographic and CT exams on patients.  Provides the best images possible to radiologist and providers for interpretation. 
  • Provides high-quality service to customers in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Communicates pertinent patient information promptly to appropriate technologist and/or radiologist.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, skill and accuracy in the operation and maintenance of all department equipment.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT PHYSICIAN

Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) is looking for an Emergency Department Physician.   BRMH is an award-winning 25-bed critical access hospital with a 24/7 ER and will soon include a Clinic opening this summer.  You will be joining a team that has the same vision: To be the best community hospital in the nation.  

This benefited position is 6 to 7 shifts per month, 24-hour shifts.  The Emergency Department Physician shall provide the very best high quality, cost-effective care to the patients in the Emergency Department.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides appropriate medical services (assess, treat, admit, transfer or discharge) to all patients who seek care in the Emergency Department.
    • Takes a full history, provides an appropriate physical exam, orders and interprets diagnostic tests to elucidate the cause of the patient complaint.

    • Responsible for, on a case-by-case basis as the need arises, taking all actions necessary to facilitate the appropriate transfer of a patient to or from another medical facility to gain access to skilled medical care.
    • Maintains procedural competency regarding life sustaining skills.
  • Assists hospital in attaining any goals established from time to time regarding patient, employee and physician satisfaction in connection with Physician’s delivery of the services.
  • Provides collaboration with urgent care providers to ensure exemplary care of patients in all areas of the hospital.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Emergency Physicians must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Wisconsin and maintain good standing on the Black River Memorial Hospital medical staff.
  • Emergency Physicians must be board certified or board eligible in the field of Family Practice with ED experience/training, Internal Medicine with ED experience/training or Emergency Medicine. Board Certified within one year.
  • Emergency Physicians must maintain current ACLS, PALS, ATLS.

NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT

  • Accurately and appropriately transports scheduled patient meal carts to the patient floor and delivers patient’s room service trays or late trays directly to the patient’s room.  Collects soiled trays from patient rooms and document the amount of food consumed by the patient.
