MED/SURG NURSE INTERN

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Nurse Intern in our Med/Surg department.  This is a part time position working 24 hours per pay period which includes every other weekend on the day shift.  The Nurse Intern performs supportive services and direct and indirect patient care.  This position also organizes and coordinates efficient delivery of care as delegated by the Registered Nurse.  

Qualified applicants must be a current nursing student from an accredited school of nursing as well as completion of first year of Associate or two years of Bachelor’s nursing programs clinical experience.  

Essential Duties Include:

  • Provides patient care within their role and aligns with the educational preparation following nursing and medical orders as delegated by the RN.
  • Recognizes changes in signs and symptoms and promptly reports patient’s condition to the RN.
  • Incorporates patient teaching in the patient plan of care.

HOMECARE/HOSPICE PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a Homecare/Hospice Patient Care Coordinator who is team-focused, a self-starter and would enjoy the challenge of providing oversight and leadership to our Homecare/Hospice staff.  This position is full-time, 72 hours per pay period, day shift hours and is fully benefited. 

The qualified candidate should be a licensed RN in the State of WI with a minimum of 1 year RN experience. Knowledge in Homecare/Hospice is essential with a good understanding of symptom management.  Experience as a supervisor/charge nurse is preferred. A WI driver’s license, proof of insurability and reliable transportation is required.  The perfect candidate will be adaptable to changes in the schedule, as this position could be called to provide home visits on short notice.

MED/SURG REGISTERED NURSE

MED/SURG REGISTERED NURSE

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse in our Med/Surg department.  This is a full-time benefited position, working 72 hours per pay period on the afternoon and night shift with rotating weekend and holidays.

The Registered Nurse plans and provides comprehensive patient care as well as manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and takes appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Accurately and effectively utilizes the patient acuity system to anticipate changes in patient care needs.
  • Provides individualized patient and family focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
  • Initiates effective discharge and referral plans on admission utilizing appropriate hospital and community resources.
  • Participates in patient and family education as evidenced by teaching documentation with appropriate resources.

This position requires a Bachelor’s of Science, Associate’s degree in Nursing, or Diploma RN with a BSN preferred.  The RN position does require a current Wisconsin RN license with a BLS and ACLS certifications within one year of hire.

NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT

Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services Assistant to join our team. The position is benefited working 56 hours per pay period. This position is primarily an afternoon shift position. 

The Nutrition Services Assistant assists in preparation, cooking and serving of food.  This position requires a high school diploma or a general education degree and basic reading and comprehension skills.

 Essential Duties:

  • Assists in preparing and portioning food for patients using room service or scheduled meals, contracted food services, employees and hospital special functions following established policies and procedures.
  • Accurately and appropriately transports scheduled patient meal cart to patient floor and delivers patient’s room service trays or late trays directly to the patient’s room.  Collects soiled trays from patient rooms and document amount of food consumed by patient.
  • Performs various cleaning duties per department protocol.  Keeps work area clean and in sanitary condition at all times.
  • Follows safe food handling practices.
