INFECTION PREVENTION / QUALITY NURSE

Black River Memorial Hospital has been voted one of the Best Places to Work in Modern Healthcare and now’s your chance to join our team as an Infection Prevention / Quality Nurse!  This position meets patients, personnel and organizational needs by leading, planning, organizing and controlling activities regarding Infection Prevention (IP) and manages all aspects of the program.  In addition, it provides leadership, vision, development and implementation of infection prevention goals for the organization and maintains continuous compliance of the infection prevention program throughout the organization in accordance with Joint Commission regulations.

Essential duties:

  • Develops and monitors the IP budget under the direction of the Quality Director.
  • Identifies, facilitates and evaluates infection prevention practices and goals according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Initiates, develops, revises, reviews and updates all policies and procedures for Infection Prevention.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional associations to promote own professional growth, to remain current regarding IP issues, and to develop/maintain skills that contribute to the achievement of the IP programs and the goals and mission of the organization.

The Infection Prevention / Quality Nurse position requires a BSN with 2 years of hospital experience preferred.  This position is full-time, day shift, working 80 hours per pay period.  We offer excellent benefits, competitive pay and contribute to a 401K.

MEDICAL STAFF SPECIALIST

Now’s your chance to join our team with this newly created position!   Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Staff Specialist.  This position performs a variety of highly skilled, complex, frequently confidential, technical and administrative functions for the Quality Director, Medical Staff Coordinator, and Medical Staff. 

Essential Duties:

  • Performs administrative and clerical duties for the Quality Director (Director of Medical Staff Credentialing), Medical Staff Coordinator, and Medical Staff. Including but not limited to assisting with provider onboarding, provider orientation, travel and conference arrangements; routine communications and logistics; data entry, routine reporting, compiling agendas and minutes, maintain peer review documentation and processes.
  • Aids with credentialing process to grant privileges including but not limited to gathering, verifying, and evaluating accurate confidential healthcare provider credentials; contacting and following up with contracted network facilities.
  • Assists the Medical Staff Coordinator with the assurance that the credentialing process is timely and meets all regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards.
