BEHAVIOR HEALTH THERAPIST/COUNSELOR

Black River Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a behavioral health therapist/counselor to join our growing facility that includes a Primary Care Clinic.  This benefited position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, day shift Monday through Friday.  The behavioral health therapist/counselor provides comprehensive behavioral health services to clinic patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders as part of the holistic approach to care in our patient-centered medical home model. This position works with a broad patient population to assess and decide the best course of treatments based on current clinical research in the social work field.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains standards of excellence in accordance with standards set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, National Association of Social Work, the Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, and the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Receives consults from a multidisciplinary team based on assessment, patient/family requests, physician orders, and multidisciplinary huddles.
  • Assesses and makes clinical evaluations of a patient’s behavioral health and diagnose illness. Incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to include the patient, clinic staff, and patient’s family/significant others to develop and implement a plan to meet the patient’s needs. Facilitates multidisciplinary planning meetings and care conferences.
  • Safely and effectively assesses and decides the best course of treatments based on current clinical research in the social work field. Determines appropriate course of intervention for each patient and schedules with the appropriate provider.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Masters or doctoral degree in social work.
  • 1-2 years related experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Current license as a LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, with the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE HELP DESK TECHNICIAN

Black River Memorial Hospital is growing – and we invite the best and brightest people in technology to join our Excellence Always journey.  We are currently seeking applicants to work in our Business Intelligence Department as a Help Desk Technician.  What does a Help Desk Technician do?  Provides maintenance of the computer desktop environment through utilization of the internal Business Intelligence (BI) Information Technology (IT) Help Desk.  Functions as first level support for users of computer applications and systems. Responds to user inquiries regarding software and hardware, and performs tasks to resolve problems or obtain solutions for users.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides IT Help Desk support and resolves problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
  • Monitors and responds quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT Help Desk.
  • Modifies configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation. Performs timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
  • Protects system(s) by entering user access privileges, control structures, and resources. Properly assigns users to appropriate groups in Active Directory.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Information Systems required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant technical experience required.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE CHARGE DESCRIPTION MASTER SPECIALIST

Black River Memorial Hospital’s Business Intelligence Department is expanding and looking for a Charge Description Master Specialist.  We want someone that thrives on being collaborative with other departments with great attention to detail.  This new position is full-time 80 hours per pay period, day shift, working Monday through Friday.  It is eligible for our generous benefits package with a 401(k) including a significant employer match. 

As the Charge Description Master Specialist, you will be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the organization's Charge Description Master (CDM) file and fee schedule through annual updates, periodic audits and ongoing review.  You will collaborate with various departments and staff to continually analyze the charting and billing processes.  It is important to accurately enter information, analyze data for errors and report any problems identified in various computer programs.  This position will keep sensitive customer and company information confidential.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains the CDM fee schedule in accordance with established coding practices and governmental regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensures Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and Revenue Codes are accurate and compliant with all charging and billing guidelines. 
  • Plans and performs moderately complex ad hoc queries and analysis for members of the Revenue Cycle team and Administration.

Education Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or 3-5 years’ work related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills

Black River Memorial Hospital is currently accepting applications for a full-time opening as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) in our busy Lab Department at our Critical Access Hospital.   This benefited position is full-time, work 7 days on, have 7 days off on night shift. 

The MT/MLT collects and processes specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and accurate and timely reporting of test results.  In addition, it oversees a variety of technical activities and individual section responsibilities to ensure efficient operation of the department.  The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent technical and customer service skills and be team-oriented.

PSYCHIATRIST

Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) has an opening for a Psychiatrist for our new Clinic opening July 2020.  This benefited position is Monday through Friday, day shift.  This position provides direct psychiatric patient care and consultation to the collaborative care team through direct patient care and regular consultations.  The psychiatrist treats patients directly, advises the prescribing medical provider on appropriate medications and other treatment strategies, also providing the care team with educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.

  • Provide regularly scheduled psychiatric patient care. Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with behavioral health disorders.
  • Receives consults from multidisciplinary team based on new patient assessment, patients who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan, physicians orders, and multidisciplinary huddles.
  • Assesses and makes clinical evaluations of a patient’s behavioral health and diagnose illness. Incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to include the patient, clinic staff, and patient’s family/significant others to develop and implement a plan to meet the patient’s needs. Participates in multidisciplinary planning meetings and care conferences.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Doctorate’s Degree.
  • Must be licensed to practice psychiatry in the state of Wisconsin and maintain good standing on the Black River Memorial Hospital medical staff.
  • American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Board Certification.
  • Completion of a psychiatry residency program; Prefer experience with primary care psychiatry.
  • Must maintain current BLS certification.

WOUND CARE CENTER REGISTERED NURSE

Join our new Wound Care Center at Black River Memorial Hospital.  We are currently accepting applications for a per diem Registered Nurse.  Hours for this position will vary depending on staff and patient needs.  The RN will be responsible for coordinating clinical activities of the Wound Care Center including: planning, implementing, evaluating and providing comprehensive patient care.  This RN position is also responsible for managing available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost effective patient care. 

Essential Duties:

  • Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocol and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver educations related to wound care management, and acts as a patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
  • Collaborates with Wound Care Center Coordinator and Medical Director to achieve Would Care Center quality indicators.
  • Provides appropriate infection control measures.
  • Documents according to established standards.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science, Associates degree in Nursing or Diploma, RN. BSN preferred.
  • Current licensed Wisconsin RN.
  • Wound Care Certification preferred but not required. If not certified, candidate will be required to obtain wound care certification within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • Provides patient care following nursing and medical orders as delegated by the RN.
  • Recognizes changes in signs and symptoms and promptly reports patient’s condition to the RN.
  • Follows the multidisciplinary plan of care plan to address patient needs.

  • Assists other team members through the steps of the nursing process.

This is a benefited day shift position including rotating weekends, totaling 48 hours per pay period.  This position requires a high school diploma or GED along with a current Certified Nursing Assistant license and completes orientation to Patient Care Technician position and BLS certification.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
