CT-X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST

Black River Memorial Hospital has an opening for a Diagnostic Imaging CT/Radiologic Technologist. This is a full-time benefitted position working 72 hours per pay period, which includes a rotation of every 3rd weekend and every 3rd Thursday. This position is a mix of evenings and nights. The Diagnostic Imaging Radiologic Technologist performs radiology examinations following hospital and radiology standards when ordered by a physician or other allied health practitioners for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologist. 

Essential Duties:

  • Performs radiographic and CT exams on patients.  Provides the best images possible to radiologist and providers for interpretation. 
  • Provides high quality service to customers in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Communicates pertinent patient information promptly to appropriate technologist and/or radiologist.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, skill and accuracy in the operation and maintenance of all department equipment.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

CLINIC CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

The Black River Healthcare Clinic team is looking for Certified Medical Assistant.   • Performs various functions in the Clinic, including screening telephone calls related to patient care and evaluating according to the protocols set forth by the provider. Discusses with the provider when indicated.
  • Utilizes an online scheduling system to schedule patients for follow-up appointments in the Clinic. Makes necessary contacts to schedule patients for follow-up tests, procedures, or appointments in other departments and/or other health care facilities. Schedules tests/procedures with appropriate departments and hospital admissions. Prepares and orders diagnostic tests including x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests according to provider orders and informs patient with instructions and follow-up.
  • Administers medication and immunizations and performs lab draws per organizational procedure as directed by provider.

Educational Qualifications:

  • One to two years of experience in a clinic setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or able to complete within three months of hire.
  • Certification through AAMA, CCMA, AMT (registered), ARMA, or NCMA is required within three months of hire.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER

Black River Memorial Hospital is looking for a part-time Advanced Practice Provider to work one weekend a month in the Emergency Department. Weekend hours for this position include a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12 hour shift, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a holiday rotation. This position evaluates and treats patients of all ages with medical, surgical, and emergency conditions in the Emergency Departments of the hospital. They also complete patient assessments, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and completes or prescribes treatments under the supervising Emergency Department Physician.

Essential Duties:

  • Assesses patients of all ages presenting for health care and obtains a personal medical history, appropriate physical examination and completes documentation of same. Patient contacts occur mainly in the Emergency Department.
  • Performs orders and interprets diagnostic tests and patient data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. (I.e. ECG, x-ray, etc.)
  • Performs minor therapeutic procedures including but not limited to injections, suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, care of corneal abrasion, within the scope of practice.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner educational program
  • Current, valid, unrestricted license from the State of Wisconsin; current board certification from NCCPA for PA or current board certification from ANCC, ANA, or AANP for NP must be achieved within 18 months of hire; and current unrestricted DEA
  • Certifications: BLS, ATLS, PALS, & ACLS required, and must be provided within 6 months of hire if do not have upon hire.

PER DIEM OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

We are looking for a per-diem Occupational Therapist. The hours and days for this position vary depending on patient and staffing needs but will be on daytime hours, Monday through Friday. They will plan, evaluate, direct, and administer occupational therapy services for patients within the scope of their licensure. The best candidate for this position will have 3 years of experience in OT.

Essential Duties:

  • Conducts occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Interprets findings of evaluations.
  • Develops prognosis and plan of care.
  • Documents according to accepted standards.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

TEMPORARY MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN OR MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Black River Memorial Hospital is currently accepting applications for a temporary Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) in our busy Lab Department at our Critical Access Hospital. This position is part-time and temporary, working up to 39 hours per pay period. The hours for this position are flexible, willing to work around your availability. 

The MT/MLT collects and processes specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and accurate and timely reporting of test results. In addition, it oversees a variety of technical activities and individual section responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of the department. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent technical and customer service skills and be team-oriented.

TEMPORARY ED EMT-PARAMEDIC

Black River Memorial Hospital has a temporary opening for an EMT - Paramedic in our Emergency Department. This position is part-time and temporary, working up to 39 hours per pay period. This position provides paramedic-level emergency medical care for patients of all ages. It functions according to the Wisconsin Paramedic Curriculum and functions under the direction of the emergency department nurse or provider.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and cares for patients following department policies, procedures, protocols, and scope of practice/job description.
  • Recognizes serious signs and symptoms and promptly reports patient’s condition to the emergency department nurse or provider.
  • Effectively and appropriately uses emergency equipment.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate of EMT-Paramedic program.
  • Current EMT-Paramedic license.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PTHLS certifications.
