ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I

Don’t miss this opportunity to join our Environmental Services team!  Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for an Environmental Services Maintenance Mechanic I.  The Maintenance Mechanic uses mechanical, technical, physical and communication skills in order to maintain a safe, reliable and comfortable healthcare environment.  This is a full time position working 80 hours per pay period which includes on call every fourth week, Monday through Sunday.  This position is on the day shift and is fully benefited.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Performs and/or arranges for corrective and preventive maintenance as needed in the disciplines of electrical, HVAC, communications, boiler/steam, plumbing, hospital equipment and building and grounds.
  • Reads and understands blueprints as an essential part of carrying out work in various disciplines of this position.
  • Responds within 45 minutes to trouble calls when scheduled as the on-call person and addresses with problems upon arrival.
  • Uses safe methods when handling chemicals and cleaning solutions in daily work practices.

Educational Qualifications Include:

  • Associate’s degree in a maintenance field or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. 
  • OR Two years’ experience in maintenance related field.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, preferred.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, preferred.

MEDICAL/SURGICAL PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN

Don’t miss this opportunity to join our Med/Surg team!  Black River Memorial Hospital has two immediate openings for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in our Med/Surg department.  The PCT provides supportive services and direct and indirect patient care as well as organizes and coordinates efficient delivery of care under the supervision of an RN.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Provides patient care following nursing and medical orders as delegated by the RN.
  • Recognizes changes in signs and symptoms and promptly reports patient’s condition to the RN.
  • Follows the multidisciplinary plan of care plan to address patient needs.
  • Accurately documents according to established standards.

Both openings are part-time benefited positions working 40 hours per pay period on the pm shift which includes every third weekend.  This position requires a high school diploma or GED along with a current Nursing Assistant certification.

ED PHYSICIAN

Practice Specifics:

  • Six 24 hour ED shifts per month
  • Average 11,000 patients through ED and Urgent Care per year- 2/3 ED and 1/3 Urgent Care
  • Joint Commission accreditation level IV trauma center
  • Family Medicine with ED experience or Emergency Medicine
  • Experienced support staff including RN, HUC, PCTs, Advanced Practice Providers, Social Workers, CRNAs, RTs, and Paramedics
  • Radiology, including CT and MR, and labs available on site
  • Hospital is committed to educational aspects of medicine and participates in the preceptorship program through a nearby medical school
  • Sign-on bonus, relocation, malpractice and tail insurance paid for

HOSPITALIST PHYSICIAN

Black River Memorial Hospital is searching for qualified, BC/BE Hospitalists to join our growing and experienced team. Located along I-94, Black River Falls, Wisconsin, is less than two hours from Minneapolis and Madison, providing access to big city amenities. Our award-winning hospital is a financially strong, progressive, rural primary care facility with Joint Commission accreditation.  Nestled between rolling foothills, Black River Falls sits along the banks of the beautiful Black River providing many outdoor recreational activities.

Hospitalists work with a full care team including ED physicians, general surgeons, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, certified registered nurse anesthetists and medical social workers. Hospitalist physicians may serve on hospital committees and participate in process improvement and documentation projects.

The ideal candidate for the position is licensed in the state of Wisconsin to practice medicine and board certified or board eligible in the field of Family Practice or Internal Medicine with Pediatric skills.

  • 7 days on, 7 days off (every other week)
