WOUND CARE CENTER REGISTERED NURSE

Join our new Wound Care Center at Black River Memorial Hospital. We are currently accepting applications for a per diem Registered Nurse. Hours for this position will vary depending on staff and patient needs. The RN will be responsible for coordinating clinical activities of the Wound Care Center including planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing comprehensive patient care. This RN position is also responsible for managing available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocol and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver educations related to wound care management, and acts as a patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
  • Collaborates with Wound Care Center Coordinator and Medical Director to achieve Would Care Center quality indicators.
  • Provides appropriate infection control measures.
  • Documents according to established standards.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science, Associates degree in Nursing or Diploma, RN. BSN preferred.
  • Current licensed Wisconsin RN.
  • Wound Care Certification preferred but not required. If not certified, candidate will be required to obtain wound care certification within one year of hire.

The MT/MLT collects and processes specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and accurate and timely reporting of test results. EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER

Black River Memorial Hospital is looking for a part-time Advanced Practice Provider to work one weekend a month in the Emergency Department. Weekend hours for this position include a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12 hour shift, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a holiday rotation. This position evaluates and treats patients of all ages with medical, surgical, and emergency conditions in the Emergency Departments of the hospital. They also complete patient assessments, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and completes or prescribes treatments under the supervising Emergency Department Physician.

Essential Duties:

  • Assesses patients of all ages presenting for health care and obtains a personal medical history, appropriate physical examination and completes documentation of same. Patient contacts occur mainly in the Emergency Department.
  • Performs orders and interprets diagnostic tests and patient data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. (I.e. ECG, x-ray, etc.)
  • Performs minor therapeutic procedures including but not limited to injections, suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, care of corneal abrasion, within the scope of practice.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner educational program
  • Current, valid, unrestricted license from the State of Wisconsin; current board certification from NCCPA for PA or current board certification from ANCC, ANA, or AANP for NP must be achieved within 18 months of hire; and current unrestricted DEA
  • Certifications: BLS, ATLS, PALS, & ACLS required, and must be provided within 6 months of hire if do not have upon hire.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience required. Urgent Care or Emergency experience preferred Primary Care Experience acceptable.

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a Patient Care Tech (PCT) in the Med/Surg Department. This is a temporary, non-benefited position, working up to 39 hours per pay period. The hours and days for this position vary depending on patient and staffing needs. The PCT provides supportive services and direct and indirect patient care as well as organizes and coordinates efficient delivery of care under the supervision of an RN.

  • Provides patient care following nursing and medical orders as delegated by the RN.
  • Recognizes changes in signs and symptoms and promptly reports patient’s condition to the RN.
  • Follows the multidisciplinary plan-of-care plan to address patient needs.
  • Accurately documents according to established standards.
  • Assists other team members through the steps of the nursing process.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a per-diem Registered Nurse in the OB Department. This is a non-benefited position, working up to 39 hours per pay period on days or nights and will include at least every 3rd weekend along with some coverage during the week. As a per-diem RN, you will also work a holiday rotation. This position plans and provides comprehensive patient care. It manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care. Labor and delivery experience is preferred.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Evaluate patient assessments and responses to interventions and take appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Accurately and effectively utilizes the patient acuity system to anticipate changes in patient care needs.
  • Provides individualized patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
  • Initiates effective discharge and referral plans on admission utilizing appropriate hospital and community resources.
  • Participates in patient and family education as evidenced by teaching documentation with appropriate resources.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science, Associates degree in Nursing or Diploma RN. BSN preferred.
  • Current licensed Wisconsin RN.
