BRMH patients benefit from Eagle Scout project

Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) received Lily Pad Boards from Jonathan (Jon) von Arx (left). Jon is a member of the Boy Scout Troop 5 out of Tomah, WI. As part of his Eagle Scout project, Jon made boards for three separate healthcare facilities. These boards fit around the base of an IV pole and add to the care experience for young patients. His project began about a year ago and enlisted the help of Eagle Scout, Jeremy Byars (second from left). “These boards will be very helpful when we have children that come in for care. Even though visits to the Emergency Department can be a bit scary, the boards will help reduce their anxiety,” said Emergency Director, Carl Lash. BRMH staff members receiving the donation are (L-R) Lash, Paramedic, Justin Brown, Med/Surg Director, Tammy Vehrenkamp, Paramedic, Hunter Loveland, and Beth O’Brien, patient care technician and health unit coordinator.
