The Healthy Living Matters, Diabetes and Wellness Fair is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2019. Attend and learn about complications of diabetes and how to become more active. The event will be held at the Hub in the Lunda Community Center in Black River Falls. Sponsoring the Wellness Fair is the Jackson County Diabetes Education Alliance.
The event is free to the public and goes from 8:30 a.m. to noon with health and wellness booths, Harvest of the Month taste tests, and other exhibits. Diabetes risk screenings and refreshments will also be available.
Dr. Neil Cox is presenting a program titled, Heart Disease, Diabetes, and Dementia, Oh My! This program runs from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Dr. Cox will share key methods to protect you from these chronic illnesses. At 10:00 a.m., exercise physiologist, Kathleen Clemons will present, Move and Groove, and share the importance of being in motion and strategies to help get you on track. At 11:15 a.m. tours of the Lunda Community Center will be available or you can visit the Jackson County Winter Farmers Market which will be next door in the Field House concession area until noon.

The Jackson County Diabetes Education Alliance is a group of community partners that include the Diabetes Education & Support Group, Partners of Black River Memorial Hospital, Jackson in Action Coalition, Jackson County Public Health and Ho-Chunk Nation Department of Health.
